The assistance contract underpinning the urban rehabilitation of Kaposvár and Nyíregyháza has been signed.
The assistance contract underpinning functional extension and urban development of two “cities of county rank”, namely, Kaposvár and Nyíregyháza, was signed on November 26.
Funding amounting to approximately HUF 270 billion has been made available for urban rehabilitation during the 2007–2013 period, under the New Hungary Development Plan (NDP). From this funding, successfully tendered projects as well as priority projects are eligible to receive EU co-financing amounting to approximately HUF 200 billion over the 2007–2010 period. This funding is nearly 8 times more than the amount allocated for urban rehabilitation under NDP I, which was equivalent to HUF 24.5 billion.
