The official opening ceremony of the Year of Festivals was held recently, where guests of the Hungarian National Tourist Office (HNTO) released balloons with festival calendars to kick-off the thematic year.
This year the focus of domestic and international tourism campaigns will be on festivals. During 2010, the HNTO will use all its marketing tools to promote Hungarian festivals and some new marketing features will also be introduced, like the festival calendar downloadable on mobiles. The first festivals campaign was launched on January 16 and will last till February 15, with 100 gigantic posters, 300 city lights, 50 smaller posters and 200 advertisements on parking meters.
