The government will start talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) this week on using the remaining EUR 6 billion of the country's EUR 20 billion financial support package to help troubled borrowers of foreign currency-based loans, the daily Magyar Hirlap reported on June 28, without citing any sources.
The government plans to establish an asset manager, able to buy the homes of troubled borrowers and allow them to stay as renters, the news source said. Parliament will debate the proposed legislation on the company in the autumn.
